Before you begin
- A terminal, an internet connection, and a project folder.
- Access to Claude Code through an eligible Claude account, Claude Console, or a supported organization setup.
Authentication and access are managed directly by each provider.
Install your CLI
The native installer is the recommended starting point. Homebrew is an alternative for macOS users who already use it.
Choose one installation method. Copy the command for your system and run it in your own terminal.
curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bashirm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iexbrew install --cask claude-codeCheck the installation
After installation, open a new terminal window. A working installation prints its version.
